Pregnancy

Finding out we were expecting Laaiti came a little bit as a shock. We had just recently gone through a traumatic miscarriage so we were scared to lose this baby. However, the worries slowly faded away as the pregnancy continued.

At the first ultrasound, the midwife saw something in baby's head that could be a cromosome disorder. The only way to know for sure was to do a amniocentesis (a small amount of amniotic fluid is removed through a needle inserted into the mother’s abdomen to test for certain birth defects). However, there was a risk for miscarriage if we did that.
We decided to go ahead and do it anyway, as it was impoertant for us to know.

We had to wait around 4 weeks before we got the good news - Everything is normal!

The second ultrasound showed that Laaiti was a small baby. Just like his big brother Phini was. It was decided for us to do extra check-ups, controlling his well-being and growth. By the end of the pregnancy, it was decided to stop the extra check-ups as we had both been healthy and fine all through the pregnancy. The doctor said, and I agree, that we simply just get small babies, no reason to why, just small.
